Haven House Cookbooks: AvailableHaven House has produced a cookbook of tailgating recipes, including pictures of tailgaters and the stories of their tailgating activities. During the early part of the 2009 football season we visited tailgaters before the games to collect recipes, pictures, and stories. Spartan tailgaters eat well and have interesting stories to tell. These have been combined, along with pictures of their tailgating, into a cookbook that we are sure you will enjoy. The book is dedicated to the families that stay at Haven House in their time of crisis.
We have received our initial shipments of the books, and can now begin to fulfill orders. See the link above to get further information about purchasing a cookbook. Thursday, October 22, 2009

Adopt a Family for the Holidays 2009Haven House's annual holiday program, Adopt a Family for the Holidays, is beginning. Adopt a Family matches a sponsor or group of sponsors with families that stayed at Haven House during the past year or are currently residing at Haven House.
It has become increasingly difficult for the families to meet basic living costs. After paying rent and utilities, the families have little if any money left for other necessities.
The goal of Adopt a Family is to provide some of these necessities as well as a few extras. A list of the family's needs and wants is provided to help in purchasing items to the sponsors. The sponsors use the list to select gifts for the family.
Please email Maresa at mtedrick@havenhouseEL.org or call her at 337-2731 to participate. Monday, November 02, 2009
